Tree Planting at Kreher Preserve & Nature Center

Thank you for volunteering to plant trees at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center. We will be planting trees rain or shine. We will not plant trees if there is a threat of severe weather. Together, we will learn about forestry practices, Alabama’s native flora, and how to properly plant trees while enjoying the beautiful outdoor scenery and wildlife of the preserve.  

Work will be physical so volunteers should wear long pants, clothes you do not mind getting dirty, and closed-toed shoes. A water cooler will be present, so please bring a water bottle. Additionally, please bring gloves and a shovel if you have them. Please sign up below so we can ensure we have enough extra tools & gloves. Waivers will be signed on-site. If you need transportation to the event, please contact the Office of Sustainability about a shuttle from the Office of Sustainability to the KPNC.   

Meet at the parking lot at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center at 2:30 PM. If you are running late, please follow the path or road to the pavilion. There will be directional signs from there to the planting site.  If we need to change to the rain date (January 31st at the same time) we will notify you on January 25th through GivePulse.
